Deep Blue Irregular Double Necklace
The deep blue pendants on this striking necklace are made from tagua that has been dyed and hand-carved by Magdelena of the MYA project in Ecuador, and the delicate brass oblongs above have been hand cut and polished by Lizet of Hope Jewellery in Peru.
The pendants hang from a silver plated chain that has been crafted by Amy and Rachel from the fabulous Just Trade workshop in London, making each necklace a truly global collaboration that employs and empowers women from all around the world.
'But, what is Tagua?' we hear you cry. Well, Tagua is a nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. Often known as 'vegetable ivory', it is a sustainable and completely environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory. As it is organic and hand-carved, the magical unique grain of the nut will be visible on each pendant - making every necklace completely one-of-a-kind.

Care instructions: Tagua may darken ever so slightly over time, but it can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Never immerse tagua in water as this can cause it to crack.
