These beautiful blue small hoop studs are made from tagua that has been dyed and hand-carved by Magdelena of the MYA project in Quito, Ecuador, and fixed to a sterling silver ear post by Amy and Rachel from the Just Trade workshops in Peckham, London.

'But, what is Tagua?' we hear you cry. Well, Tagua is a nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. Often known as 'vegetable ivory', it is a sustainable and completely environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory with a similar feel to imitation tortoiseshell. As it is organic and hand-carved, the magical unique grain of the nut will be visible on each earring.
