Deep Blue Irregular Single Necklace
The deep blue pendant on this striking necklace is made from tagua that has been dyed and hand-carved by Magdelena of the MYA project in Ecuador, and the brass pendant has been hand cut and polished by Lizet of Hope Jewellery in Peru.
The pendants hang from a silver plated chain that has been crafted by Amy and Rachel from the fabulous Just Trade workshop in London, making each necklace a truly global collaboration that employs and empowers women from all around the world.
'But, what is Tagua?' we hear you cry. Well, Tagua is a nut from a type of palm that grows in the South American jungle. Often known as 'vegetable ivory', it is a sustainable and completely environmentally sound alternative to animal ivory.

Please note that due to the organic nature of the Tagua colours will vary from brighter blue to very dark blue, but they are all completely gorgeous.
Brand: Just Trade
Approx chain length: 70cm
Material: Dyed tagua and brass pendants on silver plated chain
Care instructions: Tagua may darken ever so slightly over time, but it can be buffed up with a soft white cotton cloth. Never immerse tagua in water as this can cause it to crack. Brass is likely to tarnish over time. If you want to restore the original shine to your earrings simply clean it with Brasso and a soft cloth
