Moroccan Raffia Plate - Carnival
Bring the magical Medinas of Morocco to your coffee table and pile this decorative plate high with magazines or fruit. It makes the perfect quirky wall hanging to add a pop of colour to your home.
This bold and bright vintage raffia plate with a punchy tribal pattern has been handwoven by Berber tribes in the Middle Atlas Mountains from natural raffia stalks wound with dyed wool. Traditionally these plates were used to carry dough and bread to and from the public bakeries.
Due to the artisanal nature of the piece, it is completely unique and shows all the wonderful traces of the traditional weaving process - colours and patterns may vary and some threads might be wonderfully wonky. We love that.
